Goliath

Note: This is the third book in the Leviathan series. If you do not wish for this review to ruin the series for you, you should read the first review here.

Alek and Deryn are back in their final adventure aboard the Leviathan.
I read the final book in the Leviathan series called Goliath by Scott Westerfield and illustrated by Keith Thompson.
The book starts with them aboard the Leviathan when they are are sidetracked by an emergency rescue mission. The rescue mission was for the Clanker turned Darwinist boffin, Nikolas Tesla. He keeps saying that he has a super weapon on Long Island called the Goliath that can destroy entire cities. Soon, they have to travel the whole world from Japan, to Mexico. Alek now has a very hard decision. Will he stay aboard the Leviathan with "Dylan", Or will he go with Mr. Tesla to stop the war? Along the way, many mysteries pop up. How can Goliath work? What if Germany ambushes them?
I thought that the book was great! All of the Darwinist Fabs (fabricated beasts) were pretty cool looking, especially the Kappas. I also liked some of the Clanker war machines that were well drawn out. The story and the pictures were drawn well from their minds. This book focuses on trust and how we must learn to have an open heart to people. It shouldn't matter that caring for someone isn't manly. Though this book was excellent, There was one aspect of the book that I didn't like. They now switch characters at random between chapters which was why I didn't like The Red Pyramid. I will also say that Goliath is my least favorite out of the three, But it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Lamborghini. Overall, a fantastic book that you should definitely read, but you better read the first book Leviathan, and the second book Behemoth before this one.
