Once Upon a Marigold by Jean Ferris

I read the book Once Upon a Marigold by Jean Ferris. This book is about friendship and love. It shows that anything can happen. It falls under the genre of fantasy.

This book is about a little boy, Christian, who runs away from his parents and tries to live on his own in the forest. An old dwarf finds him and raises him. His whole life he is spying on Princess Marigold across the river.

They start to send messages to each other and fall into a friendship. One day Christian is out collecting food when he came across someone from the castle with a job offering. Christian takes the job hoping he could meet Marigold, the love of his life, in person.

He left to get the job, and that is when he decided his life would begin. He wasn't able to touch the princess, it was almost like a forbidden thing in the town. Marigold had a special disease that made it so that when anyone touched her she would be able to read their minds. Marigold never knew that it was Christian; she just thought that he was another servant boy. Marigold has been trying to get married for many years and needs to get married by the order of her mom.

After a while she figures out it is him and they are constantly talking and getting in trouble. Eventually, the queen sends Christian to jail. She misses him so much that Marigold has to go to jail 2 days before the wedding to a prince she doesn't know. They have to figure some way to get out and tell the queen the truth.

This book shows a lot of friend ships. How true friends stick to their promises and can work together. It has a lot of problems in this book. Things that get in the way of them being able to be together. He is often coming face to face with other people that he was not intending to be there.

I really enjoyed this book and recommend it for others to read and enjoy for themselves. If you like fantasy books and books like that, I think you would really like this one. Like it says on the cover. This book is part everything, but the kitchen sink. A+

Sounds great, and I have heard of this book before but now I want to read it as soon as possible. Your review was a little confusing, but a little revising should clear it up.

Is it a Series of a whole bunch of books? Because if it is, I think I have read one of the other books in this series. Good review!
