Flipped

Flipped is a great book, I really liked it. This book sucks you in and you don't want to stop reading. The way the author writes is very good, and keeps you entertained. The author also used one of my favorite ways to write a book, where each chapter it switches between characters telling the story, in this case you follow Bryce and Juli.

Bryce lives in a family that is really proper and look perfect from the outside looking in. Juli on the other hand lives in a family that looks like they are in a mess, from the outside looking in. The book starts out with Bryce moving down the street from Juli. On that very day that he moves in both of their lives change forever. Not because Bryce is living a new neighbor hod or that Juli has a new best friend but for very unusual reasons. First of all Bryce realizes that he is going to have a stalker, that stalker being Juli. And Juli realized that she was in love with Bryce. At that time they were both is second grade, but as the years go on Bryce tries his best to avoid Juli, while Juli tries her best to be as close to Bryce as possible. You follow them as they both hatch various plans to get the other one to do what they want them to. They both go through ups and downs about how they feel about each other. And who Knows they might both end up falling in love.

The way they view the world and each other isn't because of their own reaction. Their parents have a huge effect on their view of each other and the world. For example Bryce may have just disliked Juli naturally, but the way his father talked about her and her family probably egged those feelings on. Bryce's dad was always talking bad about their yard and how disgusting it was. On the other hand Juli was caring and understanding, this very well could have been because she had a handicap uncle. She had a totally different view on the world because of that.

There definitely is a underlying theme in this book, of not judging people for their circumstances. When you think about it if Juli had been a super cute rich girl, Bryce would have fallen in love with her right away. But because she was poor and lived in a run down house, he just thought of her as an annoying pest. And Bryce's dad definitely judged Juli's family. He got the Bryce to judge them really. If Bryce had not of been so judgemental, he would have saved both him and Juli from a ton of heartache.

This really is a fabulous book. I like it a lot and definitely recommend it.This was such a great book they actually made a movie about it, here is a link to the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDIXdujRSD8 Overall if you haven't been able to tell I really enjoyed reading this book and I hope that you who read it do too.
