Inheritance

It began with Eragon, it ends with Inheritance. Inheritance is the last book in the Inheritance Cycle. We have followed the main character Eragon through three books filled with dragons, magic, and strange creatures. We first found Eragon living a peaceful life in the village of Carvahall. But when his uncle is murdered by the Ra'zac, agents of the tyrant king, Galbatorix, and he becomes a dragon rider bonded to Saphira. He sets out on a journey to hunt them down with his companion, Brom. Later on Brom is killed by the Ra'zac and Eragon and Saphira join the Varden. After that he is trained by elves and the rider, Oromis and his dragon Glaedr; Admitted to a clan of the dwarves, and becomes more powerful than any elf, dragon, human, or dwarf.

In this book we rejoin Eragon and Saphira seizing control of more and more Empire cities. All the while they become more powerful, and more wise. They go on many adventures in this book. They venture into Helgrind layer of the priests of Helgrind, and seize control of Dras Leona. But after the siege, Murtagh and Thorn kidnap Nasuada leaving Eragon the leader of the Varden. As the vast army heads to Urubaen the capital of the Empire. Eragon, Saphira, and Glaedr in Eldurnari form (a dragon's heart of hearts keeps a dragon's spirit and mind alive when they lose their body.) travel to Vroengard, the once great city of the Riders, in search of the Rock of Kuthian and the Vault of Souls. They present their true names in the ancient language to the Rock of Kuthian and are led into the Vaults of Souls. Where hundreds of Eldunari and dragon eggs reside. With the power of the Eldunari in the hands of Eragon and Saphira, they travel to Urubaen to confront Galbatorix. They enter into the palace of Urubaen and find Galbatorix, Shrukien (his dragon), Murtagh, Thorn, and Nasuada in chains. Eragon and Murtagh duel in a battle of their blades. Murtagh's sword, Zar'oc (misery), and Eragon's sword Brisingr (fire) clash in an epic duel between brothers. Then Eragon convinces Murtagh to turn against Galbatorix and together they defeat him and Shrukien, and saved Nasuada and the last dragon egg in Galbatorix's possession. With Galbatorix gone, Nasuada becomes queen of the empire, Queen Islanzadi dies and Arya takes her place, also the last dragon egg opens to her and she bonds with a dragon named Firnen (above). In the end Eragon and Saphira leave Alagaesia forever to raise the next generation of Riders and dragons.

This book is revolutionary, there are times in it where I felt I was with Eragon battling the Empire and learning from the elves and the dragons. It's sad that this series is over, as is its ending but this book is like no other. For now Eragon is a part of me, as are all the characters I will miss them, but this is a great book don't miss out on it.
