In book four of this fantasy series, fifteen year old Bobby Pendragon is whisked in a flume off to Veelox. Flumes are magical portals that connect territories together and only travelers, the protectors of territories, can use. Territories are like planets, but they are dimensions apart.

When he arrives at Veelox he is confronted by the wicked Saint Dane, a traveler set on destroying Halla, which is everything and everyone. Saint Dane says that he has already one and flumes off.

Bobby realizes something is wrong when he steps out of a sewage drain into a world that is similar to Earth... except for the fact that it is completely deserted. He then meets the traveler from Veelox, Aja Killian, and they don't hit it off right away.

There were parts of the book where I thought that the author should have used more description, but that also leaves some room for the reader to use their imagination to picture things. There is this one part where Bobby is fighting a... just kidding, no spoilers.

I think the main idea of this book is that nothing compares to the Real World and that you should live your life to the fullest because you only get to live it once. I think it is a really great message because of the truth in it.

I loved the book. It was suspenseful and exciting. I liked the third person omniscient and how that plays a role in the book and how the author has so many creative ideas. There are some parts of the book that are confusing, though. In general, I think the book is exciting and would recommend it to anyone, although you should probably read the series in order. I grade this book as an A-.
