Acceleration by Graham McNamee is about a boy named Duncan who works in the Toronto City lost and found, but only because he committed a crime with his friend Wayne. It’s his punishment. While working he finds a journal. No title, just a blank brown journal. He flips through the journal, and sees that some experiments have been done. The weird thing is that they’re animal cruelty experiments! Duncan gets a little freaked out, but keeps reading. Quickly he runs in to three pictures of three different women.
So, Duncan automatically thinks this guy who owns the journal( who he calls Roach) is going to kill them. So he come out with a great plan. Guess what it was? To hunt the women, hoping that it will lead him to Roach! Duncan takes his friend Vinny, and the start making plans and marking maps to get closer to this creeper.
Eventually, Duncan finds Roach by himself, but not in a good way.
I absolutely LOVED this book! It kept my attention the entire time. It’s a great mystery with a fantastic twist. There was a little swearing, and a lot of violence. Other then that it was great! Acceleration is in my top five favorite books! I give it an A+!
Grade: A+
Rating: PG-13 ( for language and violence)
