Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Let me just start out and say that this is an AMAZING book series. I had never read it until recently and I love it. This is the fourth book in the action fantasy series called Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In his first year, Harry found out that he was a wizard, Then he almost died at the hands of an evil wizard. In his second year, there were petrified students in the hallways and Harry was to blame for them, and he almost died. Last year, he had to hide from an insane mass murderer, then his teacher almost killed him. In short, Harry has almost died three years in a row.

Now in his fourth year, Ron (his friend) invited him to The World Quidditch Cup. It ended with them running away from followers of Voldemort called Death Eaters(By the way, Voldemort is an evil wizard that wants to kill everybody but Harry Potter almost killed him). That alone raises some questions like "Why were Death Eaters here?" and "Is Voldemort coming back?" Those questions are to be answered later in the book. At Hogwarts, there is an annual Triwizard Tournament where three schools send one student of age to compete in deadly tasks that no one knows about, but not everything is as it seems. Some people are cheating to find out what the tasks are and using illegal spells to help themselves so its not a very fair competition.

This book is great with edge of your seat action and complicated mysteries. The characterization was great, I had an exact image planted in my head. (I have NOT seen the movies before too). Also, sometimes, you have to prepare for the worst. You don't know what they'll throw at you in a contest like the one in Harry Potter. In a football game, someone could cheapshot you and you can't do anything about it.

Overall, this book is flawless although the first few chapters are a bit slow. If your one of those people that love the stories but don't like the reading part, this is a great start for a great read. A
