The eldest of the eleven princess sees her mother for the last time right before her first "coming of age" ball. That night, her mother has her last child,then later that night passes away. Their father is very upset and leaves for long periods of time. Thus leaving his eleven daughters to take care of their new baby sister while in mourning. A young lad by the name of Mr. Bradford, comes to turn the large clock off in the tower, meets the young princesses and he falls in love with the eldest sister, Azalea. Telling the princess about the secret passage ways,and using the handkerchief that her mother gave to her the night she died, to open a passage way to a midnight ballroom. In mourning, the princesses can't dance, but this gives them a chance to do what they love. They dance every night, and wake up in the morning very late, and tired. But, none the less, they dance and dance. Then gate keeper of the midnight ballroom is really the Evil, and magical, High King. And he wants out of the prison he is trapped in.

In the rest of the book, the eleven girls have to save the Kingdom, and destroy the evil High King that threatens the kingdom. And in the end
some how... live happily aver after.

This book was a great read, and I loved it! It was one of the best book, with the story line of the twelve dancing princesses, I have read. With lots of secrets, danger, humor, and adventure. The author tells the story in such a way that you just can't put it down! It deserves more than a A+!
