The Hobbit: The Enchanting Prelude to the Lord of the RingsThis month I read the one of J.R.R Smiths novel called The Hobbit. This fiction books main theme was that even the most unadventurous person, can still become a hero and save his dwarf friends from evil creatures.
In this book the main conflict is a dragon. The main characters name is Bilbo Baggins, a very timid hobbit, who gets a surprise visit from a wizard named Gandalf. This same day, 13 dwarves come to his house and talk about a quest to go take back their kingdom from the hated dragon. Bilbo decides to go on this adventure with them as the groups “thief”. The book tells of the adventures and hardships of the dwarves, the hobbit, and the wizard.
This is a very entertaining book because of all the obstacles they have to overcome and the friendship they all make with each other. For example, Bilbo and the leader of the quest, Thorin, didn't start off to hot. Thorin just thought he was useless and was just extra work. That all changed when Bilbo stepped up and saved Thorins life from some goblins.  In this book I loved the way that the author made hobbits seem so useless and then totally turns it around with Bilbo. At the beginning of this book you would expect Bilbo to be the one who doesn't take any risks. Although most of the book he keeps saying he wish he could just be home, it is still a great turnaround and I love that the author did that.
There is seriously nothing I didn't like about this book. I would give this book an A+

I've read The Hobbit before, but not any time recently. This review was a good refresher on the basic plot and main idea of the story. I like how you mentioned that at first, the hobbits, especially Bilbo, don't seem like much, but that through the story, the author shows us that there is more to Bilbo than we thought at first. I want to read this book again and try to pick up things I haven't before.
