Queste

Queste is the fourth fiction book in the series written by Angie Sage. In the book, Septimus and Jenna go on a quest, therefore the name Queste. Septimus, Jenna, and their friend Beetle are on a mission to find Jenna's and Septimus' missing brother, but that's not the only reason.

In Queste, Septimus gets some information on where his brother was last seen. He also gets a map that helps him to find his brother. Septimus is going to head out with Jenna to find their brother, but Marcia, the extraordinary wizard, traps Septimus, her apprentice, in the wizard tower until he can learn how to do his projection. A projection is when you choose an item and then try to project a realistic trick image of that item.

When he has finished his projection, all the ghosts that were extraordinary wizards, when they were living, gather together. This was to determine if Septimus would go on a quest or not. Septimus would have to draw a questing stone out of the questing pot. Septimus refused to draw, and an evil guy named Tertius Fume started to put the wizard tower on siege. Septimus ran away and someone offered him a safe charm. Septimus took the safe charm and got away. Later, Septimus realized it was a questing stone and not a safe charm. Septimus was on two quests, at the same time.He decides that the quest to find his brother was more important. But as he goes farther in his quest, he finds the questing stone seems to be sending him on the same quest he is already on.

On Septimus', Jenna's and Beetle's adventure, they run into a few difficulties. Tertius Fume sends his "thing" to deal with Septimus. They run into the "thing" a few times but know how to outsmart it. When Septimus, Jenna, and Beetle get close to where they hope to find Septimus' and Jenna's brother they run into a bridge and its nasty tollman. They have to a figure out a way to get past him.

I liked this book, and suggest it to people who like fantasy and magic. At the beginning, I thought it seemed kind of boring but since I had liked the books before it, I kept reading and it got better.

I really enjoyed this book because it had suspense and was entertaining because it keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next. In this book, good conquers evil like when they ran into the "thing" and found ways to outsmart it. The book helps me feel a stronger bond with my family and friends as Septimus, Jenna and Beetle did. It also caused me to think of what I would do if my brother was missing.
