Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

It starts with a boy named Harry Potter who has lived with his aunt, uncle, and cousin for as long as he can remember. He is a small kid who's hated by his "family". Harry sleeps in the cupboard under the stairs and only gets one birthday present each year. As you can tell he doesn't have a very great life.

Then, on his eleventh birthday, Hagrid, a mega person, comes to tell him that he is one of the most famous wizards of all time. The reason for this is that when he was a baby, an evil wizard named Voldemort tried to kill him. Not only did Harry survive, but he almost destroyed Voldemort entirely. The dark wizard hasn't been seen since.

After getting some supplies in a wizard village, Harry heads off to
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Not knowing what to expect, he ends up figuring out that a teacher is trying to steal something from Hogwarts that will bring Voldemort back to power. This teacher hates Harry and is always trying to catch him doing something bad. Harry and his friends must disobey many rules in order to try and catch him. Now he has to worry about getting good grades AND saving Hogwarts. That's a lot to ask for especially if you're eleven.

As most of you know, every book of the Harry Potter series has been turned into a movie. I personally like the book more than the movie although they did a pretty good job with the movie. Almost everything that happens in the book, happens in the movie. The reason I like the book more is because you know what the characters are thinking. Knowing what the character's thoughts are help you get a better understanding of what's going on in the story. The only way to get the full picture is to read the book.

This book by J.K Rowing is one of the best books I've ever read! I don't think I've met anyone that doesn't like the book. The story never gets boring and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I never wanted to stop reading. The author makes it like a movie because of all the details of the characters and places. I thought that I was in the book at times and found myself getting nervous. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
