The Beyonders: Chasing the Prophecy by Brandon Mull

The Beyonders: Chasing the Prophecy by Brandon Mull is a really good book of fiction. This book really focuses on friendship, and always sticking with your friends. The Beyonders: Chasing the Prophecy is the third and final book in The Beyonders series. In the first two books, Jason and Rachel are regular teenagers who are transported from our world, or 'The Beyond" into a magical world called Lyrian. They meet many different people of many different races. This series is about their journey to take back Lyrian and defeat the evil emperor, Maldor.
As each of the characters gain more and more knowledge about who they are and what they are meant to do, Maldor is getting stronger. After receiving a prophecy from an oracle, Jason, Rachel, and their allies/friends are sent on a mission to defeat the emperor.
But there's a big problem. Out of all of the possible outcomes of their mission, only once do they succeed. So, the oracle tells them to split up. Half of them must gain control of a city, while the other half needs to seek out Darian the Seer. However, Darian has been missing for cenuries. As the story goes on, the characters begin to lose hope in their missions. They lean on each other more and more for support.
This book was very exciting, and I was very anxious to see how the story ended. Also, it was very interesting to learn about some of the new races that Brandon Mull created. Although the story sort of dragged on, it added to the suspense. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
The Beyonders: Chasing the Prophecy taught me that when all else fails, the people closest to you will always be there for you. They will support you no matter what. Even if you want to quit and give up, always remember that your friends and family need you.
The characters in this story are very well developed, and they have very distinct personalities.  I enjoyed the dialogue between the characters, because you can really hear their voices in it. I feel like they could even be real people.
I would reconmend this book/series to anyone who enjoys fantasy and adventure books. I really liked this series, and I was sad to have it be over. Brandon Mull is a great author, and I love all of his books.
