Halo: the fall or Reach
By: Eric Nylund

Imagine humans 525 years into the future, with multiple planets we now call "home", and us at war with an alien group known as the covenant, and you've got this book. Prequel to the game series Halo, this book is a great science fiction read. On a human colony known as Harvest, an evil alien society attacks. Because of this we enter a huge war. But men win wars not guns... so we created the Spartans 9ft. tall genetically engineered super humans in huge power suits. This book follows the story of a 6 year old boy (later grows up) known as soldier John 117.
I enjoyed this great book because of its story of how John was taken at an early age and endured difficult military training. As he grows up John faces life threatening encounters with the covenant. Asd I read this book i felt every hard pace he endured and the challenging trials he faced from bombing a ship to surviving long trips in snowy mountains. This book changes with great transitions from each and every year in spartan training. But all the training and violence pays off when he lives as the last spartan and  faces his most challenging trial yet on the planet Reach. Where the most important war happens in the whole universe.
i highly recommend reading this great novel because of how well it is written. The great story in this book describes what would happen if we where ever at a point this high of hardship. This is one of my favorite books i have read by far. A

The Final Hour by Andrew Klavan is the fourth and final book in the Homelanders series. In the first book the main character Charlie West goes to sleep in his bed one night and then wakes up strapped to a chair with bad guys trying to kill him. Somehow he manages to escape and call the police. The police are no help; when they come they arrest him for killing his best friend. The rest of the books up to the Final Hour are about Charlie running from the police and the bad guys and trying to get his memory back.

In the Final Hour Charlie has managed to get most of his memory back. He now knows that he was an undercover agent for the U.S. and that the bad guys are a terrorist group called the Homelanders. The Homelanders are trying to bring down the U.S. Charlie's mission is to get into the group and bring them down from the inside. Charlie also remembers their big plan to attack America and he has one chance to stop them. If he can't, millions of innocent people will die.

This book was great. It had tons of action and suspense. There were hardly any boring parts in this book it was just go go go. Another thing I really enjoyed about this book was that at the end of every chapter was a mini cliff hanger that kept the reader interested in the story. A large reason this book was so entertaining was that you as the reader didn't know how anything started and you have to find out so you keep turning the pages. So for these reasons I'm giving it an A.

I do need to mention that this series and book was very violent. There were multiple scenes where people were shot or beat up. Charlie is being chased by trained killers so it's kind of expected. So if violence and blood bothers you I wouldn't suggest reading this.

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner

By: James Dashner. The Maze Runner is an adventure, action, intense book. The Maze Runner seems really confusing the first chapter but, it clears up a lot.
Thomas wakes up in a black moving box. Thomas can't remember anything except his name. Soon he enters the Glade. In the glade there are sixty boys or so, along with that there is a kitchen, homesteads(where you sleep), and an office, and a giant maze with huge concrete walls. Thomas is welcomed by the some of the boys. They say that once a month a new "glader" arrives with his memory wiped. The maze is huge and every night the doors close, trapping in the grievers. Grievers are half human, half monster, they are full of spikes and deadly venom. Everyday they have runners run into the maze to try and map it so the other gladers can find there way out of this weird place. Thomas though has the urge to be  a runner.
The day after Thomas arrives, a girl arrives. A girl!  For two years it has only been boys. The twist though is she has a message saying she is the last one. She then falls into a comma. Soon after that people in the glade are in danger. The maze walls stop closing at night letting grievers out. Thomas finds out he has telepathy with the girl named Teresa. As things worsen Thomas and his friends try to find their way out of this dreadful Glade.Losing many along the way.
The Maze Runner is full of action and adventure. Along with that it is also creepy, and odd. This book makes you think and wonder what this is caused from. It does have a some violent parts in it, so if  you aren't into that stuff, maybe choose a different book but, if you are it is a great choice because it isn't overly violent.
Overall this book is amazing and the author was very creative in producing this book. I would highly recommend reading this book. It is a fun, action, adventure book for people who like this genre. I would give this book an A+!

The Kill Order

Life in the mountains for Mark was just starting to become bearable, when a berg flew into his little village, and started raining darts down at anyone they could. One of Marks good friends who had helped him through the sun flares, and many other exciting adventures got shot and went down right away. The people in the village realized that the people who got hit by the darts, caught a terrible virus that jumped from person to person making them go crazy and eventually die. Mark, Trina, Alec, and Lana all went out to follow the berg, and on their way they found another village that had the same thing happen. At that village they found a little girl who got hit by a dart, but wasn't sick.

From there, they took the little girl and went to find why this happened, and if there was a cure for the horrible virus that they started calling, The Flare. Together they went on many action packed adventures, and actually found the people who started the whole thing. Mark and Trina, end up giving the little girl to these people, so that these people can make up for what they did, and test this girl to find the cure to The Flare.

I really enjoyed how quickley i got hooked to this book, and I also liked how much action is in this book. It was well written and would be enjoyable to most teenagers. A few things I didn't like about this book is the swearing and detailed deaths that wasn't necessary. It doesn't swear a whole lot, but it still is annoying, because the swear words almost seem forced. The deaths were very vivid, and didn't need to be described as much as they were.

Over all I gave this book a B+ because it was very interesting, and at the end of every chapter the author left a little cliff hangar to make one want to keep reading. It is a must for those who like the Mazer Runner series. I personally thought that Maze Runner was a little bit better than The Kill Order, but once you read The Kill Order, Maze Runner will mak a lot more sence. I would recomend this to those who like Hunger Games, or other books like that, but if you don't like gore, then you probably shouldn't read this book.

(Re done feb.) Pillage, By: Obert Skye, Review by: Andrew Williams

Pillage, A Fiction Y.A. Book by: Obert Skye is about fifteen-year-old Beck Phillips is sent to live with his weird uncle he had never met when his mother dies, where he learns that his family has a curse that allows him to make plants grow on command and dragon eggs hatch. Shortly after he arrives there, he begins to noticed weird things happening. Plants move, ivy defends him and salad hurts people for him. That and the strange warnings to not go behind the house, Beck discovers his cool ability to command plants and wakes up eight dragons, without knowing it. When Beck arrives at his uncle’s mansion, an air of mystery greets him. While the house has seven floors and hundreds of rooms, Beck along with his uncles and a minimal house staff are the only occupants. As time goes on Beck learns dark secrets about his lost family. Secrets that include buried basements, forbidden gardens, an ancient book of weird family history, and most surprising of all dragons! On his long train ride, he meets Kate, who isn’t very friendly. She is his age, and is headed to Kingsplot too.
Beck wakes up from a 12 hour rest, and notices that they are the only ones left on the train. Beck thinks it’s strange, but Kate isn’t too worried about it. When he arrives, Beck meets Thomas, who drives him to his new house. Seven floors, with stables, and a huge garden. Right away, Beck is told to stay away from certain places for his own safety. Beck meets Milo who asks many questions about the house, mostly about the basement. But, there is no basement. And I thought this was like the rising action, the book started off slow but I felt after this happened this story was going somewhere. At school there are some boys who picked on Beck and Milo. Milo is new to Callowbrow, too. However, Beck can do some weird tricks with plants that makes his life easier. But, what happens with the secret is really exciting and page turning, I just kept on reading and couldn’t stop.
I really enjoyed this book. Full of exciting twists and surprises! I liked the history of Beck’s family a long the way too. A strange, but interesting history full of plants, stones, and pillaging!!

Worlds of the Crystal Moon: Magic of Luvells

This is a complete follow up to my last blog here!:

In this book, we follow our hero's again through even more tasks. They are in Luvells now looking for the new piece of the crystal moon. The war is still raging between the gods, and it is getting very hectic. Also the main character, George, has been brainwashed into thinking he could become a god! So now he is also on his own journey to find the crystal pieces. Stay tuned for more !

Now with this book, I do have some things that I wish I could change. First, that they would switch to George more often then Sam and Shaylee. Usually it goes like this. Sam and Shaylee for like 2 chapters then George comes in for a single paragraph. That really does Peave me off...Also they should incorperate Sams magical sword. It can talk, magicaly go on fire, and when does he use it? Not very much. Well not until a gory chapter.

This book does also have amazing moments. THIS IS A SPOILER SO WATCH OUT! My main parts of the book is when one of the gods babies is in complete danger because of George. I don't know what happens next, but I heard it was amazing. Also at the end of the book, George completely tricks Shaylee into getting trapped inside a orb that George has. That completely made me want to read the next book.

So I would suggest that if you like adventure, fantasy, a little bit science fiction, and lots of epic battles, you should tottaly read this book. But there is a warning I should give right now. This book has some Dirty and/or very gory violence throughout the chapters. So if you are going to read this, then be warned. I would give this book an A.

Candle Wax

In a world where four kingdoms occupy the mysterious land of Lackanay, and a great evil waits for the right moment to emerge again, there must be corruption. C. Bailey Sims delivers this world of supernatural magic in this book shown to the left. The story starts with a sixteen year old girl named Catherine leaving her room and walking down a dark corridor in the middle of the night. She gets outside through a secret passageway in the kitchen. After that she heads to the vault, she gets the guards to open it and grabs some money and the Ancient Onyxes given to her by her grandmother. She leaves the vault, dresses as a boy to be able to leave her kingdom unnoticed, and rides a horse towards the bay of Portsland, where she will take a ship away from the mainland to start a new life. Along the way she is attacked by a 732 year old Farrier cat, a living legend. He eats her horse and she must go on a journey to help this Farrier cat, named Spelopokos, or Pokos. This is all because of the Onyxes. In the ancient land of Devona, a great evil awaits to awaken that can only be stopped by Farrier cats. Without a mate Pokos will die, and leave this great evil to take over all four kingdoms of Lackanay. They travel to a town to get Catherine new supplies where she is befriended by a kind lady who takes her in. Eventually, Catherine's father tries to locate her. She runs away from the village with the daughter of the kind woman who gave Catherine assistance, but they are then captured by the men of a power-loving ruler of one of the four kingdoms. With the help of Pokos they escape and are found by the king of Candle wax. The reason she ran away from home, she was to marry him. They group together and travel to Candle wax. Pokos and Catherine plan to run away to the land outside of Lackanay, called Cinna to find another Farrier cat as he is the only one left in Lackanay.
They are stopped by the king of Candle wax named Cyril. Cyril and his advisor join them in their quest to find another Farrier cat. While in Cinna, they kill four Farrier cats in self-defense, encounter Cinnans and travel to their mountain fortress, join in a competition to earn their freedom, and chase after the corrupt rulers of Cinna. Pokos is shot by an arrow in the neck and almost dies. With the help of survivors of a shipwreck, they must take Pokos to his brthplace to heal, and Catherine must take the Farrier cats found in Cinna to Lackanay. When Pokos left Lackanay, the great evil awoke and started to march across the land. The other kingdoms soon start to hold back. Eventually Catherine makes it back to Lackanay, and they meet the traitor... The rest you will just have to read, because the rest of the story is too complicated and long to explain in this review. This book was really good and I recommend it to all who enjoy fantasy and made-up creatures. It was an excellent page turner. A+

FYI: If you were wondering, there will be a sequel.

Unwind

A vague humanoid form is visible, its left hand extended to the "screen" as if waving or motioning for help. The atmosphere is dark and gloomy, similar to that of a womb. A human fingerprint is overlaid on the image. Near the bottom of the image, the title "Unwind", along with the author's name, is stenciled in a thin, science fiction-esque font.    What do you do with an unwanted pregnancy? Depending on your moral views, you would abort it. But what if that wasn't possible? What if abortion was illegal? What if the alternative was so shocking, so ghastly, so completely illogical and insane, yet it was totally ordinary and accepted in American society? Granted, most people wouldn't view it as that, because it was just so common. It's called unwinding. Unwinding is where between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, an unwanted child can retroactively be aborted by the parents. It is done so by practically dismembering the child, which all of their body parts are then given to those who need them (excluding the 'useless' body parts such as the appendix). However, since all of the parts are still alive, just with somebody else, the child is not technically 'dead', but in a 'divided state'. This shocking book tells what happens when the unthinkable is the norm, and when three teenagers scheduled to be unwound rebel.
Connor is a sixteen year old who inadvertently discovered his unwind document in his parents' files. His parents view him as an out of control delinquent. Risa is a ward of the state, a very talented pianist, and is being unwound due to budget cuts. Lev is a tithe to his religion, being raised from birth to believe that his unwinding is a service to God. These three will accidentally cross paths (Lev under the impression that he is being kidnapped by the first two, and is probably the only one in the world that wants to be unwound) and the journey they take will forever change society as a whole.
I absolutely loved this book, I have never been so intrigued by an idea which is absolutely mental, but everyday practice. During the first about five pages, I hated the characters of this book (I'm like that with every book). After that however, I started to gradually like him, and the others. What's interesting about the point of view in this particular novel, is every chapter, you follow another character around, it's still  told in third person, but you gain insight onto what the other characters think and feel. I actually felt terrible for Roland during his unwinding (It goes quite into detail on the process), who was one of the central antagonists of the book. It's actually pretty chilling to think about how this would actually be possible within the next couple of decades, if people were to get so uptight over a very dumb issue. For the record, I think abortion is okay up until around six weeks after conception. I do not however, condone it. Other than that, I think it's wrong to get one unless the mother's life or the baby's life were in danger. But I also believe that if you want one, get one. It's your life, not mine. I shouldn't have control over your choices. I give this book an A+ by far, it totally deserves it.

The Lost Hero by: Rick Riordan review: by Andrew Williams

Jason woke up on a bus holding hands with a girl named Piper, and talking to a boy named Leo. Apparently Piper was his girlfriend, and Leo was his best friend. Everyone else on the bus seemed to know him too, but Jason didn't know who these people were, he didn't even remember his past life. The only person who knew Jason didn't belong here was Coach Hedge, who later they find out he's a satyr. When they get off the bus, Annabeth and Butch (son of Iris) come in a flying chariots, Hera gave her a dream that she'd find her answer to where Percy Jackson was here, but she only found Jason, Piper, and Leo. She knew they were Half-Bloods and brought them to Camp Half-Blood. Right when they arrived, Leo got claimed by Hephaestus, god of blacksmiths and fire. While Annabeth was giving Piper a tour around camp, Chiron was having a chat with Jason and found out Jason was Roman. Later at dinner, Jason finds out his dad is Zeus, or as Romans say it, Jupiter. Piper got claimed by Aphrodite, which she did not like at all. Piper has been getting weird dreams that her dad has been captured by a giant at Mount Diablo, but she didn't mention it. They find out that Hera has been captured and locked up, and Jason, Piper, and Leo were assigned to go on the quest.

Spoiler Alert!    They freed Hera and Piper's dad. Piper has the ability to charmspeak, and Leo has the ability to create fire, and he's immune to it. When they come back to camp, they find out Percy's at the Roman camp, and he doesn't remember who he is.

I give this book an A, the first is a little slow but once it gets into the quest it is one of the best books.

Rick Riordan also wrote the Percy Jackson and the Olympians and this is a little similar but I feel had a little more action and suspense, many times I was forced to put it down ,but I just couldn't.

This is a wonderful book that I suggest everyone read!

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

Welcome to Middle Earth! The Hobbit is the prequel to the legendary trilogy of the Lord of the Rings. (By the way, it is now a movie which recently came out in December of 2012.) The Hobbit was published before the Lord of the Rings trilogy in 1937. Plus, in every angle of the book there is a completely an unexpected journey for our little hobbit: Bilbo Baggins. This unexpected journey in Middle Earth is overflowing with the most dangerous and exotic creatures imaginable. (Some in which are very stupid.)

Bilbo Baggins takes upon the request of this adventure from the great wizard Gandalf the Grey, followed by the dwarf Throrin Oakenshed with his twelve other dwarf friends that are willing to do anything to take back the Lonely Mountain which was taken by the dragon Smaug. (That's all I'm going to say on that.) Unfortunately, there are many obstacles and dangers that lie ahead before them. Though they go through many problems, they always find a solution by, of course, Bilbo.

I love this book and it has moved me in many ways. From chapters that make me want to be in it or stay out of it, I was pushed into it anyway. I love books as much as the next person (or hobbit, goblin, troll, etc) but I really dislike when books take forever to get to the story, luckily, this does not happen at all in The Hobbit. It just jumps right to the adventure, like a good book should. Though there are many parts that are hard to understand, keep reading anyway. I was actually shocked and somewhat upset how Tolkien made all of the dwarfs (maybe not Balin) turn their heads away from Bilbo thinking he was worthless and thought Gandalf was crazy to pick him. But then I was glad that Bilbo showed what he can do and that he is a worthless Burglar for the Company.

The only thing that I would tell Tolkien to do before writing The Lord of the Rings would be to write more adventures that Bilbo goes on. It would have also been nice to know what happened to all the dwarfs after a bunch of stuff that I shall not speak of.

If one was at the library (or bookstore) and saw this booking laying there. Pick it up and read it! You will not be sorry or regret it that you did read this. It is a truly amazing adventure through J.R.R. Tolkien's great, big, work of art.

"Night" By Elie Wiesel

"Night" - By Elie Wiesel, is a depressing and inspirational auto-biography about his time with his father spent in Nazi German concentration camps; Auschwitz and Buchenwald. Though it is only a 100-page book, it holds terrifying opinions and history - he talks about the death of god and how much he is sickened by humanity. The original book was an 865- page book written in Yiddish, and 50 years later, it had been translated in to more than 30 languages.

The book starts off by telling the reader of Elie's hometown - Sighet, Romania, and of a strange man, hollering about the horrible things "they" have done to him. The man goes all around the town, telling people that he had been abducted and brutally tortured. Nobody listened, at least, nobody but Elie. He would spend almost every afternoon with the man and listening to his stories of going to Hell and coming back to tell the tale.

In Spring of 1944, the Nazi's begin shipping carloads of Jews to Auschwitz, and Elie's family is sent in the last car, a few days after the rest. A woman on their car was hysterical, screaming visions of flames and furnaces.

Finally, on the third day of their car-trip with only minimal amounts of food and water, they arrive at a concentration camp and see a large furnace with black smoke flowing out the top. Elie and his father go with the "healthy" group to work, while his mother and sisters are sent the Birkenau to be killed.

Wiesel has won a Nobel Peace prize for his literature, and has gone on to write two other books about his thoughts after the Holocaust. If you haven't already read this book, you'd better find a copy and read it to yourself because it is definately a "must-read." With all it's gruesome detail and horror stories about his time spent in Auschwitz, it can make someone go from a happy-go-lucky American into a starving and dying Jew in Auschwitz.

The Lightning Thief by: Rick Riordan

This fascinating book "The Lightning Thief" is a great fiction/Greek Mythology/fantasy type of book. Rick Riordan (the author) in my opinion is one of the best authors ever. This book is is so intriguing and entertaining.

Oh no! Zeus' master lightning bolt has been stolen! Who would steal it??? Of course they would choose the poor innocent guy who doesn't know the first thing about Greek Mythology... Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon (Poseidon is the god of the sea and the brother of Zeus). Percy Jackson is just a regular guy, besides the fact that he is a delinquent, until the day he is told that he is the son of Poseidon, Zeus including all of Mount Olympus thinks he stole Zeus' master lightning bolt, and that he has ten days to bring it back and find out who did it. Pretty tough for a guy who probably didn't believe what they were saying at first. Anyway, he and his best friend Grover (which he met at a regular school and Percy just found out that he is a saytr) get sent to a place called "Camp Half-Blood" to train for the mission ahead. So to shorten things up he leaves and goes on this crazy adventure that includes chopping of Medusa's head, eating burgers with Ares, and fighting Hades. Its not looking good for him and his friends but Percy's life pretty much depends on finding this lightning bolt. Can they find out who actually stole Zeus' bolt? Can they do it in ten days?

This is literally one of the best books I have ever read. It kept me up all night reading and reading and reading. It was so good. I don't think I would've changed anything in that book although you might want to study up on your Greek Mythology because it gets really hard to remember all of the names of the gods and goddesses. I really like how the author put this in modern day times instead of the 70s or 80s or something like that. I think that it was a great idea and it couldn't of been any better than it was. A+

Fang- James Patterson

Fang is the sixth book in the Maximum Ride series. There is a little bit of background information I should give you before you read the rest of the review. Maximum and her six best friends, pretty much her family have been running from a megalomaniac for a few months. Before that they were running from a different insane corporation. A few things you need to know about the flock as they're called.

Gazzy at age 8 can make anything you give him into an explosive and is also known as the gasman. You can probably guess why. Angel at age 6 can read minds and "persuade" people or a better way of saying it is, control minds.Nudge at age 11 can hack into almost anything and can pull metal to her body without touching it. Iggy at age 14 is blind but he can see colors. Fang at age 14 can sneak up on anyone and also breathe underwater. Max at age 14 has a voice in her head that tells her what choices to make. It mainly tells her that she has to save the world. Also, they all have wings.

They were all raised in dog crates and escaped with a man named Jeb. Jeb left them to their own devices when Max turned 12. Max ended up taking control and raising the other kids. She became a sort of mother to them and in return they all trust and follow her orders.

Max and her flock are on their way to help the starving children in Chad, Africa. As they fly in they get shot at by men on camels. That's just the usual routine for these kids. In Chad they meet a maniacal scientist named Dr. Gunter-Hagen. Who wants Max to subject herself and her flock to more tests and terrible treatment. Of course Max's first priority is the flock so she absolutely has to say no. Little Angel has been trying to steal the leadership of the flock, and she wants to be "improved". However, Max can't let that happen. Max escapes the crazy doctor by leaving Africa altogether. She settles down in Colorado but that results in even more problems. Like the reappearance of erasers. (Erasers are large wolf like creatures. Like werewolves. They are one of the retired or failed experiments and were all supposedly killed off.) Dealing with fighting is easy for Max she knows how to act in that situation. When it comes to solving the problems of her emotions, she is completely useless. Max has been pining after her best friend and second in command for awhile, so when she finally gets him you'd think that everything would be all fine and dandy. Well, for Max of course it can't end like that. Max slowly finds herself focusing more and more on Fang and less on the well being of her flock. The two of them are always trying to get alone time and the flock can't handle the disappearance of their leader and mother. Max and Fang can't be together and focus at the same time, so how will they make their relationship work? When Angel realizes that the flock may be in need of a new leader she is more than ready to step up for the job. Though Angel may think she knows everything, in reality she can't handle being a leader. The flock needs Max but in their hour of need, she might not be there for them.

This book is not only about saving the world but also about the experimentation aspect of the world. You may be thinking, "There are not any kids with wings running around as far as I know!" Well, that's true but that's also not the aspect that I feel the book really focused on. I think the book and series in general are about where genetic experimentation may go in the future. Sure, for now we can only take human genes out of and insert human genes into embryos. But what about when scientists decide they want to broaden their horizons? It may be blonde hair and blue eyes now, but all it takes is one scientist who thinks that creating a new kind of creature would be fun and bam! We suddenly have kids with wings that can read minds. Genetic experimentation may be helpful now but what if your child was the one that had to grow up in a dog crate? Change is good but changing too much can affect everything and not only in a positive way. I believe that is a deeper meaning within this book.

While you can read this book without reading any of the others I encourage you to read them in order. Everything you as a new reader need to know is explained in each book but it will make a lot more sense and be a more thrilling read if you read the other books first. I love this book. It is suspenseful and action packed, the romance is a side story compared to the action that goes on. I give this book an A+ rating.

A Child Called "It" by David Pelzer

A Child Called "It" is a very Very VERY sad story about a young boy named Dave. At the begining, he talks  about  how good and happy his family is until his parents start fighting. And his mother starts drinking. . . a lot. Then, she would beat him just for the fun of it. None of his brothers were harmed. Just him.
At first it wasn't to terrible. A few punches here and there. Then, all of a sudden his mother became very violent. Beating him every chance she got, and only letting him eat every ten days! It got so bad that she brunned him, STABBED him, and even tried to drown hin in their own bath tub! He had no  bed, just a newspaper and the floor. Plus, he had the worst punishments I have ever heard of .
Let me remmind you that this started happening when he was only seven years old, and didn't stop until he was almost fourteen! Fourteen! Even worse, he was  the oldest, and his younger brothers would join in on what his mother called "the game."
I do not recommend this book to people who don't like violence. This story is truly heartbreaking. I cried through the entire thing! Mainly because i put myself in his situation. What would I do? How would I live? Sadly, many c hildren do not live through this stuff.
This is one of the worst child abuse cases in America, but someone could easily top that record. So, we need to stop child abuse! Please, if you are being abused or someone you know. There are many hotlines avalible along with helpful gardians. David Pelzer wrote two other books that have helpful information as well.

Divergent

Divergent is a super suspenseful book by Veronica Roth. I kind of thought it read like The Hunger Games. It is pretty similar with power and the government and stuff like that. It is a very thrilling book that has tons of cliffhangers. It has you on the edge of your seat the whole book. You just never know what is going to happen next. Their is a lot of pretty brutal times where someone gets the crap beat out of them and others are actually somewhat fragile. It is a very good book and once you start reading you might not be able to stop.
There are five different factions that people choose to go into when they're sixteen. The Dauntless (the brave), Abnegation(the selfless), the Erudite(the intelligent), the Candor(the honest), and the Amity(the peaceful). Beatrice grew up in Abnegation but chose to switch to the Dauntless. She went through the three stages of Dauntless initiation, meeting multiple friends on her way, and came into the Dauntless as rank number one in her age. After the initiates complete the third stage they are injected with what they think is a tracking device. The next day Beatrice wakes up to her initiates under control of the Erudite leader Jeanine. Beatrice is not controlled by this because she is special. She is Divergent. She finds her family and Four, her trainer, and tries to rescue everyone she can but Four is captured and put under control as well. Later, Beatrice has to face Four, after already losing her mom and dad. Four is able to fight off the control and they destroy the control system. They run away to the Amity after starting a war.
This was by far one of my favorite books ever. It was intense, fast paced, and had me on the edge of my seat the whole book. There is only one word to describe this book. "AMAZING." It was the only book I have enjoyed in a long time. Everyone should read this book.

Eighth Grade Bites By Heather Brewer

Eighth Grade Bites is the first of a set of books called The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. It was a pretty easy read. It was only a couple hundred pages, and it incorporated fantasy with real life. I think that is the main reason why I finished it so fast.

The story starts out with a chase scene. Mr. John Craig is running from a hungry vampire who is searching for Vladimir Tod. Mr. Craig gets caught, tormented, and eaten. Mr. Craig was, however, successful in keeping Vladimir safe from harm, for now.

Vladimir Tod, or Vlad, is a typical eighth grader, right? Of course not! Vlad is a vampire, or at least part vampire. His dad was a vampire, and his mom was human. His parents died a few years back in a house fire. Now Vlad lives with his Aunt Nelly. It turns out she's not even his aunt, but his mother's best friend. Anyways, Vlad has one friend, Henry, the most popular kid in school. Even that doesn't stop him from being bullied every day.

One afternoon, a new substitute for Language Arts comes in his name is Mr. Otis Otis. With the help of Otis later out in the book, Vlad is able to discover who he really is. He also discovers a hidden vampire world that his dad hid him from.

I honestly thought this is one of the best books I've ever read. It's filled with action, suspense, and a few jokes here and there. It mixes fantasy with every day life to create a truly unique story. I highly suggest this book to anyone that likes vampires(not the sparkly kind).

Supernatural: Night Terror, John Passarella

This book... I love this book! I swear it was like a freaking drug to me. I love it!!! One of the reasons may be that it is based off of my absolute favorite TV show ever, Supernatural!!! It is violent, action packed, and a horror story and does the series justice.

Alright down to business. You need some background info! This book takes place amidst the chaos of season 6 right in between the episodes "Frontierland" and "Mommy Dearest." Sam and Dean Winchester are hunters, but not the kind of hunters you're thinking of. The hunt things we only dream about in our worst nightmares. They lost their mother to a demon when they were young and their father had them on the road ever since, training them to fight the evil supernatural beings in the world. With the help of dear friend Bobby Singer they have taken down hundreds of monsters.

Considering this is supposed to follow the plot of season 6 the author often makes references to previous happenings early in the season. Season 6: Sam went to Hell and came back, but he returned without a soul. So with the help of their friend and angel Castiel they got Death to return it to him. Sam's soul was tortured by Lucifer while it was in the pit. Death put a wall up in Sam's head so he wouldn't remember Hell. Now that Sam is back in more or less one piece they are hunting the Mother of All. She's a freaky monster that can create more freaky monsters. Bobby learned that ash from a pheonix can harm her and that's what they got in the episode "Frontierland." So that's season 6 in a nut shell but I do encourage you to watch it. That aside let's get to book.

We jump in with Sam and Dean on their way to Clayton Falls, Colorado. Bobby sent them there because of strange reports of giant Gila and a headless horseman being seen. Posing as FBI agents Sam and Dean dive into the mystery unfolding before them. The more they look into the situation the less sense it seems to make. Whatever the creature is it gains power and starts dropping bodies.

This book will have you on the edge of your seat dying to know what lie beyond the next page but too afraid to turn it. As I mentioned before it's... Well it's a little violent. Yeah, okay who am I kidding? It is mega violent and graphic not only with blood but with the language the Winchesters use. So you have been warned.

It portrays the TV series quite well and John Passarella has a gift with words. If you have seen any part of show you know what witty humor to expect from the duo that are the Winchesters. It's so much more than amazing, it's spectaculacular! (That's for my die hard Supernatural fans.) I rate this book A+! So what on earth are you waiting for pick it up and read it!!!
