Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by: C.S Lewis

This amazing book by C.S. Lewis is just one of the many Add Imagegreat classics that are in the 7 book series "The Chronicles of Narnia". It is definitely a fantasty book as well as a fiction book. I think this book was written during World War I or World War II but I am not 100% sure. It just says it was during a war.
When Lucy, Edmund, Peter, and Susan Pevensie were sent away to London to live with an old professor because of "Air raids" they found something that they could've never imagined. In a wardrobe in the house that they were sent to, they discovered a whole new world called Narnia. Lucy was the first to discover this sight to see and at first nobody believed her. When she went to show them Narnia the passage was not opened. It seemed that there was no way to get in unless it was raining. The next rainy day they played a game of hide and seek in the house and Lucy snuck off to Narnia. Edmund who was the "Seeker" saw Lucy go into the Wardrobe and he followed her. He soon discovered that she was not lying and that Lucy was nowhere to be seen. He then runs into the wrong person... the evil White Witch. She gives him this enchanted Turkish Delight that makes him want to have more and more and more and more. That means that he would have to bring them to her so he can get more Turkish Delight.
If everything goes right she can still continue ruling Narnia and continue to keep Narnia winter for as long as she can without any problems. On the other hand Narnia hasn’t seen Aslan the Lion (the good guy/the good Lion) for a very long time. Everybody/Every Animal is losing hope and is thinking that it will stay Winter for the rest of their lives and that they will never feel happiness ever again.

They all finally end up in Narnia and don’t have any idea that Edmund met the evil White Witch and that he is trying to take Lucy, Peter, and Susan to her. Edmund sneaks away to the White Witch and she is very angry that he came to her without his siblings. She wants to kill him for what he has done but Aslan comes out of hiding and tells the White Witch that he wants to
be killed instead of Edmund. During this whole little episode Edmund understands that the White Witch is really very evil and turns to the good side. Anyway, Aslan is killed but the next day is resurrected and is ready to fight the war to retake Narnia and make it controlled by the good guys again. They have to retake Narnia back and win the war. People are counting on them
and they can’t possibly lose… Right?

I liked the book and I thought it was a pretty good read but it could’ve been written a little better. I would’ve liked to see a guy be the bad guy instead of a girl. It would’ve been nicer if the ending was different. Most of you have probably seen the movie but if you haven’t I don’t want to give it away. It was a good read and I might just have to read another book in the series. B+
